Vintage Songye Mask

This mask belonged to the Songye people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They mostly depict the tribes' might and strength. The male mask typically has a white crest, while the female mask also has a white crest, but the crest is always smaller in size and has finer stripes. The stripes are similar to those of an antelope. The mouth of this mask, which depicts the bird's beak, is its distinguishing characteristic.

Condition is excellent.
