Big Baule Mask - 1

The Baule mask, which is worn during Goli rites. It is utilized in tribal dances at harvest festivals, processions honoring prominent visitors, and at the funerals of significant figures.

The circular face depicts the sun's life-giving vitality, while the horns signify the buffalo's enormous power. The mask is made of wood and has two holes cut into it to allow the user to see. This sort of mask is further distinguished by its rectangular mouth.
